Meet our founder. She disliked flossing too.
In a time BF (Before Flaus), Sam never flossed. She lied to her dentist and came home with 12 cavities (and a massive dental bill 😩). She was desperate for a better way to floss.
She loved her electric toothbrush and was a responsible twice-a-day brusher, but she knew she needed to floss more if she wanted to keep her pearly whites for life.
Flossing was painful, time-consuming, difficult and gross. Why couldn’t it be as quick, easy and comfortable as brushing your teeth?
So, ditching her corporate 9-to-5 to invent a better way to floss, she set her sights on disrupting the flossing world that had been unchanged for more than 200 years.

Why should I Flaus instead of floss?

Flaus makes flossing as easy as using your favorite electric toothbrush! No more sticking your fingers in your mouth or not being able to get to those hard to reach places!
The 18,000 sonic vibrations per minute in Flaus move the floss side-to-side and help to get the floss in and out of tight spaces much faster and easier than traditional floss. Not to mention the left-to-right motion of the head mimics the proper flossing technique. Plus, 80% of our customers have reported flossing more since using Flaus!
Not only is Flaus easier than traditional floss, but there are some studies that show electric flossers are superior to traditional floss.
In past clinical trials, the American Academy of Periodontology found that an electric flosser “in combination with a manual toothbrush, removed plaque significantly better than the toothbrush alone. Among floss types, there was evidence of superiority for the [electric] flosser.”* Studies also found that an electric flosser “removed significantly more interproximal plaque in molar, premolar and anterior teeth compared to manual floss.”
The Journal of Clinical Dentistry found that electric flossing “was safe and effective in reducing interproximal plaque and gingival inflammation, and provides a useful alternative device for interdental cleaning.”

Bite Pad
Don't forget to use the bite pad! The bite pad (located on the back of the device) helps you move the Flaus Head in and out from between your teeth! Using the bite pad to bring the Flaus Head out from between your teeth helps control the pressure, which also prevents stretching the floss - making those Flaus heads last even longer!
Vibrations
Let the 18,000 sonic vibrations do the work for you when you're getting in-between those tight spaces! Flossing usually requires a bit of force, but Flaus has a more gentle take - be patient and don't force it!
Tight Spots
Do the tight spots last! Everyone's mouth is different, it's totally normal to have tight spots that might break the floss. As you continue to Flaus, you'll learn more about your mouth and learn what works for you!

What type of floss do you use?
Our Flaus Heads use the highest performing glide floss in the market — a PolyTetraFluoroEthylene monofilament tape floss. This floss does not shred, and is the absolute thinnest-possible floss available so that it has the best chance of working for everyone (tight teeth and all).
Having said that, we know that all mouths are different, and all Flausers have different needs. It’s impossible to pick one floss that will be right for everyone — some people want thick scrubby floss, others want thin tape floss. Not to worry — we’re working on something new to solve this conundrum 🤫.
